We are seeking a well-rounded and collaborative Software Engineer to join a dynamic IT Services team supporting web and software application development. This Software Engineer role is a contract-to-hire opportunity based in Martinez, CA, offering a hybrid work model. The ideal Software Engineer candidate will have a strong foundation in C#, ASP.NET Core, T-SQL, and object-oriented design, and will be excited to contribute across multiple development efforts - from web front ends to workflow tools and middle-layer logic. Healthcare experience is required.
This Software Engineer individual will work closely with cross-functional teams, business partners, and leadership and should be a natural communicator who thrives in a collaborative, people-first environment.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Design, build, and support full-stack .NET applications, with a focus on middle-tier development and workflow logic
+ Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather requirements and implement custom solutions
+ Write clean, maintainable code in C# and ASP.NET Core, using Visual Studio
+ Support and eventually help migrate ITSM platforms from Ivanti HEAT to ServiceNow
+ Develop and maintain SQL Server databases using T-SQL, stored procedures, and performance tuning
+ Create and consume RESTful APIs
+ Assist in web development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MVC architecture
+ Work on backlog items related to IVR workflows and automation
+ Administer IT service management systems and help shape future ServiceNow implementations
+ Support ongoing modernization efforts, including future migration to Azure cloud services
+ Participate in Agile-style team activities including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives

Requirements
Required Qualifications
+ Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
+ Experience: 4+ years' experience managing complex IT projects, including at least three (3) years in a leadership or project management role for large application systems.
+ Substitution: Additional experience may be substituted for up to two (2) years of required education.
+ At least 1 year in a healthcare related environment
Knowledge & Skills
+ 3+ years of experience in software development and analysis
+ Proficiency in C#, ASP.NET Core, SQL Server, RESTful APIs
+ Hands-on experience with HTML/CSS/JavaScript
+ Experience supporting or administering an ITSM platform
+ Exposure to Visual Studio, MVC architecture, and relational databases
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Prior experience with Ivanti HEAT or ServiceNow
+ Azure experience and interest in cloud migration
+ PowerShell scripting, Windows Server, and Active Directory knowledge
+ Basic networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs)
